Shabbat activities always begin at 6:00 at CABI, but the format for Friday evenings varies by week:

First Fridays, join us for a catered community dinner

At CABI, Friday night Shabbat observance continues in its monthly rhythm (see below). We continue our First Friday dinner samplings of Jewish cuisine around the world: In February, we will feature the foods of Argentina!

Purchase your First Friday Dinner online by clicking HERE.

  • Second Friday of each month, we gather in the sanctuary for the Kabbalat Shabbat Service

  • Third Friday of each month, we gather in the social hall to enjoy appetizers, wine and beer, and a musical service featuring CABI’s inimitable band, the Red Sea Ramblers

  • Fourth Friday of each month, we gather in the sanctuary for services

  • Fifth Friday (if there is one), we gather in the sanctuary for service

On first and third Fridays, Shabbat observance at CABI will end by 7:30 pm. On second and fourth (and fifth) Fridays, services will end by 7:15, giving us time to gather with friends to share Shabbat dinner, either at home or in a restaurant or park. On all Fridays, we encourage you to get creative as you find ways to rest and restore, in the company of your friends and family.

Don’t quite remember the order of the prayers? Need other resources? Look for handouts on CABI’s ShabbatTogether bulletin board, in the social hall. Or contact the ShabbatTogether team, at shabbattogether@cabi-boise.org or 208-343-6601, extension 108.

Shabbat shalom!
