Temple Beth Israel, built in 1895 by German-Jewish immigrants in downtown Boise, merged with Ahavath Israel in 1986 to form Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel. It is the oldest continuously used synagogue west of the Mississippi River and is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism.History
