LAST CLASS SESSION: Wednesday, May 2
A Day Apart is an ongoing workshop about making Shabbat in our homes, led by Rabbi Dan and Haya Kinberg. This is part of CABI's Shabbat Initiative, designed to help our community celebrate Shabbat in more meaningful ways. Each session stands alone, so you can attend the whole series, or drop in when you are able. We are using the book A Day Apart--Shabbat at Home, by Noam Sachs Zion and Shawn Fields-Meyer, which is available on Amazon at very reasonable prices, both new and used.
Topics will include: intro and preparing for Shabbat; lighting Shabbat candles; welcoming angels of peace; blessing children and others; songs of love; kiddush over wine or juice; challah; Shabbat table talk; soul singing at the table; birkat hamazon; malka; and havdalah.
No knowledge of Hebrew is required, and we will teach to all levels of observance and background. Questions? Contact Rabbi Dan: rabbidan@cabi-boise.org.
