8:00 PM - 10:45 PMSocial HallSelichot, the singular of which (selicha) means "forgiveness" in Hebrew, are penitential prayers and poems that we recite starting on the Saturday night before Rosh Hashanah. As in many Reform communities, our programming around Selichot includes a film screening that anticipate these prayers. Please join us at 8:00 pm in the Social Hall to watch “The Straight Story,” followed by a discussion and selichot service. The Straight Story is based on the true story of an elderly man who drove his riding lawn mower hundreds of miles to mend his relationship with his brother. The importance of love, family, and welcoming the stranger are woven through this tale. We will end our movie and discussion by 10:45 pm in time to attend the 11:00 pm Selichot service in the CABI Sanctuary. No RSVP necessary. Questions? Contact Elisabeth Sonersen: marsupial3@aol.com
