The Rapidly Rising Anti-Semitic Tide
Tuesday, November 28, 2017 • 10 Kislev 5778
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMCABI Social HallIn recent years, we have seen an uptick in anti-Semitic attitudes and in violence against Jews in the United States, Europe and elsewhere. Threats against Jews, their beliefs, wellbeing, and security, are on the rise, as are hateful attitudes against other minority groups. Despite efforts by many political leaders, nationally and at the local level, and by educators, law enforcement groups, parents, journalists, human rights groups and others, this trend seems to continue. The outlook is disturbing. What is its context, what is causing it, can it be curbed, and what do we need to know? Join us for a discussion of this vital topic on Tuesday, November 28. Our session will be led by Howard Berger, PhD, History Professor and Weyerhaeuser Chair at the University of Idaho. Howard is a frequent lecturer in topics relating to Jewish history, the Holocaust, and American intellectual history. He is also a longtime member of our congregation. Sponsored by CABI's Adult Education Committee, for members of the Jewish community. Questions? Contact Sandy Berenter: berenterlaw@cableone.net
